Joined the Army in 1982 to earn money for college. Left after 6 years and went to College-Penn State Proud! Earned my BA in communications, another in economics. I rejoined the Army Reserve in 2003 and was sent to the sandbox in 2005-2006. Recently, the army decided I needed more fun so they sent me to parachute school. Nothing like jumping out of an airplane going 300 miles an hour, 1500 feet above, and praying that the parachute opens up...
I was employed in the insurance industry until June when I was laid off. No wife no kids, at least not yet.
Currently, I am on active duty, and being mobilized for deployment to Afghanistan.
School Story:
I have way too many.....
-How about when we had that gift exchange in 1st form, picked names and ended up with Audrey Steele? I bought her a plastic purse for 25 cents, and after school, I saw her in our classroom, ripping the purse to shreds, stomped on it and said, "me no want dis, dis a old wooman cinting" As I sat there with the tattered purse in my hand,
Ms Brown our teacher walked by and asked me: "You get dat fi you gift"?
-Or my performance on sports day 1979, when in a scintillating effort reminiscent of the song "Long Shot Kick De Bucket" I finished dead last in the 1500 meter event? I ran around the track like a spastic goat kid, devoid of oxygen, trailing the two Delroys-Burnett and Nugent. Undaunted by my performance, Mrs Lee promptly made me run the 3rd leg of the 4x400 later that day. Let's just say that by the time I handed the baton to my fellow Burchell runner for the final leg, the antelopes from James and Sharpe house were crossing the finish line.
-Most memorable quote: "William Knibb needs more football players like Audrey Steele and Godwin Barley"
-Tony Wilson, math teacher
